Carolina Panthers

Despite the efforts of four Panthers, the AFC defeated the NFC, 38-27, in the Pro Bowl. Wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad, linebacker Dan Morgan and defensive end Julius Peppers all started for the NFC squad, while linebacker Mark Fields played as a reserve.

Muhammad, making his second Pro Bowl appearance, recorded four catches for 54 yards. During the regular season, Muhammad, who also played in the NFL's all-star game following the 1999 campaign, ranked first in the NFC with 1,405 receiving yards and 16 touchdown receptions on 93 catches. Morgan and Peppers, Carolina's top draft choices in 2001 and 2002 respectively, became the club's first first-round selections to represent the team in the Pro Bowl since the 1997 contest. Morgan, who posted a career-high 109 tackles in 2004, led all NFC linebackers with three stops. Including defensive tackle Kris Jenkins in 2002 and 2003 and wide receiver Steve Smith in 2001, the Panthers top three picks from the 2001 NFL draft have all attended the Pro Bowl.

Fields produced one tackle in his second Pro Bowl after also being named in 2000 while with New Orleans. Fields' performance capped an amazing recovery for the 10-year veteran, who missed the entire 2003 season with Hodgkin's disease.

Indianapolis quarterback Peyton Manning passed for 130 yards and three touchdowns to earn player of the game honors.
